In today's semifinal match of the prestigious WTA 500 series tournament in Stuttgart, Germany, Marta Kostyuk proved to be stronger than her more renowned opponent from the Czech Republic, Markéta Vondroušová. The Ukrainian secured victory in two sets — 7:6 and 6:2.

In the tiebreak of the first set, at a score of 4:2 in favor of Kostyuk, arguably the best play of the tournament occurred. Vondrousova executed a good first serve, and after her opponent's return, she launched a powerful forehand attack. However, her awkward smash returned the ball to the baseline. Vondrousova continued to rally with her opponent across the court but made a frustrating error on the backhand shot. The ball went out, and this play proved decisive in the tiebreak, allowing the Ukrainian to claim the set.

The second set did not delight fans with such intense competition, as Kostyuk secured the match with two breaks and advanced to the final. Tomorrow, Marta will face Elena Rybakina in the deciding match of the indoor clay court tournament.
