The midfielder for the Austrian national team and RB Leipzig, Christoph Baumgartner, scored the fastest goal in international matches.

The Austrian midfielder scored a goal against Slovakia just six seconds after the start of the match.

The previous record belonged to the former forward of the German national team, Lukas Podolski, who scored seven seconds into the match against Ecuador in 2013.

Austria secured a 2:0 victory over Slovakia.

Baumgartner, 24, has been playing for Leipzig since the start of this season after transferring from Hoffenheim. The midfielder has 4 goals and 3 assists in 32 matches for the Bulls in all competitions.
