Amorim wants Man United to sign Sporting's 17-year-old prodigy Quenda
Manchester United's new head coach, Rúben Amorim, had initially vowed that no players from his former club Sporting would make the move to Old Trafford during the winter transfer window. However, he appears open to bringing one of Lisbon's brightest talents to England next summer.
Details: According to the Daily Mail, Amorim has expressed strong interest in signing 17-year-old Sporting winger Geovany Quenda during meetings with United's management. The young right-sided forward has caught the coach’s eye with his rapid development and standout performances.
Quenda made his first-team debut for Sporting under Amorim this season and quickly became one of the team's key players. However, Sporting has yet to reveal the price tag for their academy graduate.
So far this season, Quenda has made 18 appearances across all competitions, contributing 2 goals and 2 assists. He has also earned a call-up to Portugal's national team, though he has yet to make his senior debut.
Reminder: Reports today suggest that Manchester United will not provide Amorim with a substantial transfer budget, potentially complicating any high-profile acquisitions.
