Amorim criticizes Ed Sheeran after singer interrupts his interview
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim appeared slightly annoyed after Ed Sheeran interrupted his live interview on Sky TV, reports The Sun. The incident occurred after United's Premier League match against Ipswich.
Speaking to the press ahead of the Europa League clash with Bodø/Glimt, Amorim addressed the awkward moment from the weekend:
"Here you are used to that, in Portugal it's different. For me, it was nothing. I was with Roy Keane, he's a real star."
Ed Sheeran, a passionate Ipswich supporter, is known for his involvement with the club, even reportedly helping secure a key signing during the summer transfer window. His excitement over Ipswich managing a draw against Manchester United may have led to his behavior.
The interruption occurred as Amorim was being interviewed by the panel, including Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp. Sheeran attempted to strike up a conversation with Redknapp, dismissively remarking, "I don’t think he wants to talk to me," when informed that Amorim was being interviewed.
While the moment came across as disrespectful, Amorim seemed unfazed and hinted at being ready to stand his ground if necessary.
