Amir Abdou arrived in Burkina Faso to officially take charge of the national team
The new coach of the Etalons will finalise the signing of his contract this Tuesday.
Appointed coach of the Burkina Faso national team on 1 March 2026, the Comorian tactician was welcomed on Monday night in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. Amir Abdou will be officially sworn in as coach this Tuesday 3 March.
The signing ceremony and presentation will be preceded by a meeting with the president of the Burkinabe Football Federation. Amir Abdou will then begin his mission at the head of the Etalons' technical staff. The nature of the Comorian tactician's contract will be revealed during the ceremony.
Former coach of the Comoros and Mauritania, Amir Abdou is a great connoisseur of African football. His coaching career has been marked by his achievement with the Comoros national team at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, with a historic qualification for the round of 16 of the tournament.
