Amid contract extension talks. Neymar diagnosed with COVID-19

Santos striker Neymar has been absent from team training since Thursday. According to the club, the player displayed symptoms of a viral infection, after which he underwent medical testing that confirmed a case of COVID-19. This was reported by Globo.
Currently, Neymar is receiving symptomatic treatment at home and remains under the supervision of the club's medical staff. He will only be allowed to return to training after making a full recovery and receiving clearance from the doctors.
Interestingly, the forward was already set to miss the upcoming Brazilian league match against Fortaleza due to a suspension. Because of his illness, he also canceled a planned Sunday visit to the Brazilian national team’s training base in São Paulo.
Neymar’s future remains uncertain against the backdrop of his illness. His contract with the club expires on June 30, and both parties have yet to reach a final agreement on an extension. According to club president Marcelo Teixeira, negotiations are ongoing and some progress has been made, but no concrete decisions have been reached so far.
