American Hall with a personal record won the Olympic gold medal in the 400-meter race
American Quincy Hall won the Olympic gold in the 400 meters at the 2024 Paris Games.
In the decisive race, he clocked a time of 43.40 seconds. Second place was taken by Matthew Hudson-Smith from Great Britain. The bronze medal went to Muzala Samukonga from Zambia.
This is the debut Olympic gold for the 26-year-old Hall. He also set his personal record in the 400 meters.
At the 2023 US Athletics Championships in Eugene, Hall reached the final of the 400 meters, posting the fourth-best time. In the final, he set a new personal record of 44.41 seconds, finishing third.
At the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hall ran 44.37 seconds, winning the bronze medal in the 400 meters final.
Hall won the 400 meters at the BAUHAUS-galan 2024 in Stockholm in June this year. He also ran the world’s best time (43.80 seconds) at the Herculis Diamond League 2024 event in Monaco.
