Club América is already preparing for the Apertura 2025 and has reportedly set its sights on a domestic replacement for underperforming winger Javairo Dilrosun. According to El Universal, the club is targeting Tigres UANL’s Ozziel Herrera as the ideal addition to boost its options out wide.

América’s coaching staff, led by André Jardine, believes there is a lack of depth on the flanks, where Alejandro Zendejas and Brian Rodríguez currently operate. Herrera is seen as a young, dynamic player who could serve as a valuable impact substitute.

The 23-year-old winger joined Tigres from Atlas for $7.2 million and remains under contract until June 2026. Although his current market value is estimated at $4 million by Transfermarkt, Tigres is not known for selling key assets easily, making any potential transfer a financial challenge for América.

Herrera has earned seven caps with the Mexican national team, though he hasn’t been called up since 2023. His resume includes back-to-back Liga MX titles with Atlas, a Campeón de Campeones title, and a Gold Cup win with Mexico.

As América looks to bolster its squad for a demanding second half of the year, Herrera has emerged as a prime target. The question now is whether the club will meet Tigres' demands to finalize the deal.
