América Eyeing Surprise Signing from the Premier League América Eyeing Surprise Signing from the Premier League

Club América is reportedly working on a surprise move to sign Spanish winger Adama Traoré from the Premier League’s Fulham, aiming to bolster its squad ahead of the 2025 Apertura and potentially the FIFA Club World Cup. The potential deal, first reported by El Heraldo Deportes, could bring the powerful attacker to Mexico, with Raúl Jiménez’s close friendship with Traoré playing a key role in negotiations.

Traoré, 29, is known for his explosive pace and strength, capable of playing on either wing or as a forward. His career has taken him through top-tier clubs like Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, FC Barcelona, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and now Fulham, where he currently plays alongside Jiménez. That bond could prove decisive if América makes a formal offer.

His current contract with Fulham expires in June 2025, with an option for an additional year. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at $11 million, but he could become a free agent next summer if no extension is agreed. His annual salary of $3.3 million is well within América’s financial reach.

With Liga MX rivals Monterrey and León signing stars like Sergio Ramos and James Rodríguez, América is keen to secure its own marquee signing.
