Marumo Gallants have their eyes on French coach Alexandre Lafitte.
Details: According to Soccer Laduma, the Marumo Gallants management is impressed by the achievements of 28-year-old Lafitte, who, in his debut season as a head coach, clinched the gold medals with Ivorian side Stade Abidjan and steered the club to a national championship for the first time in 56 years.
However, this remarkable feat did not play a decisive role in extending the contract between the Ivorians and Lafitte, meaning the young Frenchman will leave the team as a free agent.
"With the contract coming to an end, Stade Abidjan extends its deepest gratitude to coach Lafitte for his professionalism and wishes him every success in his future career.
Thanks to him, our club has returned to the summit of Ivorian football, becoming champions of Côte d’Ivoire 56 years after our last coronation. This title will remain engraved in the club’s history and in the hearts of our supporters," said the Stade Abidjan press service.
Although the deal has yet to be finalized, insiders suggest that Lafitte is among the top candidates on the club's shortlist.
Alexandre Lafitte began his head coaching career in 2022. Prior to that, he had served only as an assistant to other coaches and also gained experience in women’s football.
