Amaju Pinnick Rules Out Return as NFF President Despite Eligibility for Third Term Amaju Pinnick Rules Out Return as NFF President Despite Eligibility for Third Term

Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick has firmly dismissed any suggestion that he could return to lead Nigerian football, confirming he has no ambition to seek the role again.

Speaking in an interview with News Central TV in Morocco, Pinnick made it clear that while he remains eligible to contest for a third term as NFF president, he has no desire to do so. The former football administrator stressed that his focus has shifted away from holding office and toward supporting the federation in other ways.

“I’m young. I’m 55. I can still be an NFF president,” Pinnick said. “But do I want to be? Never.”

Pinnick, who served as NFF president from 2014 to 2022, explained that he is satisfied with his time in charge and believes it is important for the federation to continue moving forward under new leadership.

“I’ve done eight years, and I’m okay with it. So it’s moving forward. It’s helping the federation, seeing some of their inadequacies, and figuring out how to make it adequate.”
