Allegations of corruption: President of the Senegalese Football Federation under investigation

Abdoulaye Fall is the subject of an investigation into allegations of corruption surrounding his election as head of the governing body of Senegalese football.

According to reports in L’Observateur, which have been picked up by several Senegalese media outlets, the Dakar Urban Police have reopened the investigation and are planning a series of hearings. The investigation centres on allegations of “vote-buying” and “promises of undue advantages” which are alleged to have been intended to influence the election held in August 2025.

A complaint lodged by Mamadou Kandji had named Abdoulaye Fall and several other officials. According to the Senegalese press, the investigations ordered by the public prosecutor also concern three football officials, including Moussa Mbaye and Ndiambé Diop.

The hearings are set to begin with Moustapha Bitèye, who is due to be the first official to be questioned next Monday. Abdoulaye Fall is also due to be questioned by the Senegalese courts.

These hearings are therefore part of proceedings designed to shed light on the allegations surrounding the election of the president of the Senegalese Football Federation. At present, these are merely allegations under investigation and not facts that have been established in court.
