Andy Murray is truly a legend of British tennis, having more than earned the respect that is coming his way. And that recognition is set to arrive very soon.

Details: According to The Athletic, the 38-year-old tennis star will be commemorated with a statue on the grounds of Wimbledon. The unveiling is planned for 2027, coinciding with the tournament’s 150th anniversary.

The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which initiated the project, was reportedly inspired by Roland Garros, where a statue of Rafael Nadal already stands. Wimbledon currently features a statue of Fred Perry (the previous British champion), a bust of Virginia Wade, and tributes to other British winners.

Reminder: Wimbledon 2025 kicks off on June 30, marking the first edition since 2004 in which Murray will not compete in either singles or doubles.
