The organizers of the ATP 250 tournament in Bucharest were forced to officially bring the matchday to an early close.
Details: Persistent downpours that started in the morning made it impossible to play even a single set on the courts. As a result, all scheduled singles matches for today have been postponed to tomorrow, April 3, which will create an incredibly tight schedule for the players at the end of the week.
The main victims of the unpredictable Romanian weather were the tournament seeds and young talents. On Friday, fans can expect a true tennis marathon, featuring thrilling clashes such as the battle between Argentina’s Sebastian Baez and Titouan Droguet, as well as a real test for the experienced Adrian Mannarino against the young Daniel Merida. Daniel Altmaier and Dino Prizmic will also be fighting for their spots in the next round tomorrow.
All postponed matches:
- Sebastian Baez vs Titouan Droguet
- Daniel Merida vs Adrian Mannarino
- Stefanos Sakellaridis vs Fabian Marozsan
- Daniel Altmaier vs Dino Prizmic
The exact match schedule for Friday will be confirmed later in the evening.
Reminder: Jannik Sinner claimed victory in the “Sunshine Double,” rewriting tennis history.
