Saudi club Al-Ittihad has officially announced the appointment of their new head coach, the legendary Frenchman Laurent Blanc.
Earlier, it was reported that the French specialist will sign a two-year contract with the club.
Initially, the Saudi team wanted to hire Stefano Pioli but could not reach an agreement with him. They then shifted their focus to Blanc.
Blanc's last job was with Lyon. On October 16, in his first official game in charge, the team lost away to Rennes in a French league match. He was dismissed from his position on September 8, 2023.
Blanc's coaching career also includes stints at Bordeaux, PSG, the French national team, and Qatari club Al-Rayyan.
