Alioune Abitalib Fall is the new head coach of the Senegal women’s national team

On Wednesday 23 September, the Senegalese Football Federation officially announced the appointment of the Senegalese tactician as head coach of the Lionesses.

The Senegal women’s national team has a new head coach. Alioune Abitalib Fall, former coach of the Senegal women’s U20 national team, takes the reins of the senior women’s side.

He succeeds Mame Moussa Cissé, who stepped down following Senegal’s elimination at the group stage of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations held this summer in Morocco. Alioune Abitalib Fall’s appointment therefore comes just over a month after his predecessor’s departure.

The Senegalese coach is already familiar with the Senegalese women’s national teams, having previously been in charge of the U20s. He will now be responsible for leading the Lionesses and continuing the work with the Senegalese women’s national team.
