Aliou Cissé wins his dispute against the Libyan Football Federation
The Senegalese coach has had his case upheld
FIFA has ordered the governing body of Libyan football to pay compensation to the Senegalese coach.
Aliou Cissé will receive compensation of 820,000 euros from the Libyan Football Federation. The Senegalese manager had spent eight months without pay whilst in charge of the Libyan national team.
Aliou Cissé had subsequently claimed his unpaid wages, which triggered a standoff with the Libyan Football Federation. However, FIFA ruled in favour of the Senegalese manager.
Appointed as head coach of the Libyan national team in March 2025 on a two-year contract, Aliou Cissé stepped down from his post in April 2026.
