The 35-year-old has signed for the Qatari club on a free transfer.

A free agent since leaving Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, Riyad Mahrez will continue his career in the Qatar Stars League. Al Shamal officially announced the signing of the former Algerian international on Wednesday 14 October.

The 35-year-old Algerian winger is set to take on a new challenge in the Gulf following his spell in the Saudi Pro League. Riyad Mahrez will bring his experience to his new team in the Qatari professional league.

The Algerian forward has played in Europe for Le Havre, Leicester City and Manchester City. Following his spell in England, Mahrez joined Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia in 2023.

However, the 2019 African Champion is now set to discover a new league by moving to Qatar. At Al Shamal, Riyad Mahrez will play alongside his former international team-mate, Baghdad Bounedjah.
