Algerian international Andy Delort has returned to Montpellier HSC on loan from MC Alger, with the possibility of making the deal permanent.

From 2018 until 2021, the veteran attacker represented Montpellier, where he scored 47 goals and assisted 21 times in 106 appearances.

Delort, who was a member of Algeria's 2019 AFCON winning side, declared his desire to assist the club in its fight against relegation. He recognized the disappointment created by his premature departure but pledged to give it his all on the field.

Montpellier has struggled this season and is presently in the relegation zone, but Delort's comeback gives them optimism. He replaces Akor Adams, who has transferred to Sevilla, and will be crucial in renewing the team's assault as they attempt to avoid Ligue 2.
