Algeria Extend Vladimir Petković Contract Until 2028
Algeria have confirmed the extension of head coach Vladimir Petković’s contract, keeping him in charge of the national team until 2028.
The Algerian Football Federation announced the decision on Sunday via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the extension reflects “stability and confidence in the work accomplished” under the experienced coach.
Petković, who took over in February 2024, has enjoyed a strong spell in charge, guiding Algeria to 21 wins, four draws and just three defeats in 28 matches. His impact has also been crucial in securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Algeria will begin their World Cup campaign in Group J against Argentina on June 17, before taking on Jordan and Austria in the remaining group-stage fixtures.
