The Algerian national team is worried about its central defender, Aïssa Mandi, who was injured this Sunday during the 14th matchday of Ligue 1. Three weeks before the start of the 2025 AFCON, the LOSC player left the field injured this Sunday evening against Le Havre.
The central defender, the most capped player in the history of the Fennecs (111 caps), who started for the 11th consecutive time in Ligue 1 this season, will have to quickly regain his full fitness to hope to be ready for the start of the AFCON on December 21 in Morocco.
Mandi's injury complicates matters for Algeria, as other players are already injured. For example, Amine Gouiri (OM) has had shoulder surgery, Youcef Belaïli (Espérance de Tunis) is suffering from a cruciate ligament rupture, Samir Chergui (Paris FC) is bothered by his hamstrings.
