Alexis Sánchez’s return to Udinese appears to be heading for an early conclusion, according to RedGol. The Chilean forward, once a fan favorite at the club, has failed to live up to expectations in what has been a disappointing and injury-hit 2024/25 campaign.

The 35-year-old has struggled with fitness since rejoining the Serie A side, missing most of the first half of the season due to a long-term injury. He recently suffered another physical setback while on international duty with Chile, further clouding his status at the club. So far, he has played just 10 matches and logged 394 minutes without contributing a goal or assist.

Per the Italian outlet, Udinese are “partially disappointed” with Sánchez’s first year back and are preparing for discussions with the player at the end of the season to determine whether they will continue together. While he is under contract for another year, signs point toward an exit as the club looks to revamp its attacking options.

Lorenzo Lucca is also expected to draw interest from other clubs this summer, and Udinese may overhaul their forward line completely. Sánchez, once instrumental in Inter Milan’s 2022 Scudetto win, has not found consistency since returning to Friuli.

For now, the veteran attacker is focused on recovering and making an impact before the season concludes. However, staying in Italy may prove to be an uphill battle.
