Alexandre Santos tipped to take charge of Petro Luanda
Petro Luanda could see a familiar face return to lead their first team.
Portuguese tactician Alexandre Santos is reported to be close to a return to the Angolan club’s dugout, following the club’s recent parting of ways with João Pedro Sousa after a defeat in the CAF Champions League.
The Luanda-based club sacked its head coach, João Pedro Sousa, following the defeat to Scottland FC in the CAF Champions League. To succeed him, the Angolan club is reportedly turning to Alexandre Santos, a manager who is already well acquainted with the club.
The Portuguese manager led the Angolan giants between 2021 and 2024, an earlier spell that could facilitate his return. According to reports, the two parties have reached an agreement on a one-and-a-half-year contract.
If this appointment is confirmed, Alexandre Santos will return to a club he knows well, with the task of reviving the team’s momentum.
