Alexander Aravena Back from Injury at Gremio, but Faces New Setback

Alexander Aravena has returned to full training with Gremio after recovering from an injury sustained during the last international break with Chile. The 22-year-old forward rejoined the squad this week, marking his first full session alongside teammates since the layoff, according to ge.globo.
But just as Aravena becomes physically available again, a new challenge arises: the foreign player limit. Despite being ready to play, Aravena’s inclusion in Gremio’s upcoming matches in the Brasileirao and Recopa Gaúcha remains uncertain due to roster restrictions. Brazilian competitions only allow nine foreign players to be registered per team, and Gremio currently has eleven on the books.
Following a quiet first half of the season in both domestic and international action, Aravena will now need to prove his value to coach Mano Menezes and earn a coveted foreign player slot. While his recovery is a positive development, the Chilean striker’s battle for minutes is far from over in a squad packed with international talent.
