Legendary Scottish manager Sir Alex Ferguson was not in attendance for Manchester United's Premier League match against Brentford in the eighth round.

Details: Earlier this week, it was revealed that Manchester United's management had decided to relieve Ferguson from his representative duties. The official reason given was cost-cutting measures, as the most successful manager in the club's history was earning £2 million a year.

In addition, Ferguson and other members of the club’s football board were reportedly denied access to the team’s dressing room.

According to Daily Mail, Ferguson's absence at today’s match against Brentford is not related to any fallout with the club's hierarchy. The report states that Ferguson had prior commitments, meaning he would have missed the game at Old Trafford regardless.

Reminder: Recently, it was revealed that the legendary partnership between Ferguson and Manchester United might never have happened. In an interview, Ferguson himself shared that before joining the "Red Devils," he had received offers from Arsenal and Tottenham.
