Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, ranked third in the world, embarked on his journey at the ATP tournament in Madrid. His first opponent was the representative of Kazakhstan, Alexander Shevchenko, ranked 59th in the world.

The Spaniard convincingly started the first set, taking a 2-0 lead, while the Kazakh managed to claim only one game, making it 2-1. Afterward, Alcaraz continued to extend his advantage. Overall, the first set concluded with a score of 6-2.

In the second set, the Spanish player continued to dominate on the court. Alexander Shevchenko could only secure one game. Alcaraz secured a convincing victory in this set as well, with a score of 6-1, thus winning the match 2-0.

In the next round of the ATP tournament in Madrid, Alcaraz will face Brazilian tennis player Seyboth Wild, who is ranked 63rd in the world and managed to defeat Italian Musetti with a score of 2-0.

By the way, Alcaraz is just defending his title, as last year he beat the German Struff 2-1.
