Alcaraz becomes the first finalist of Wimbledon 2024
In the first semifinal match of the 2024 Wimbledon tournament, Daniil Medvedev faced off against Spain's Carlos Alcaraz on Friday, July 12.
The first set ended in a tiebreak, favoring the world No. 5, who won it 7-1. However, Alcaraz quickly regrouped and leveled the score, taking the second set 6-3.
The next two sets both ended with scores of 6-4, but they unfolded differently. Medvedev started the third set stronger but subsequently lost three consecutive serves and couldn't catch up with his opponent. In the fourth set, Alcaraz initially took the lead, but Medvedev briefly went ahead 2-1 and 3-2 before failing to maintain his advantage.
As a result, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev 3-1 to advance to the Wimbledon final, where he will play against the winner of the Djokovic/Musetti match.
