The Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, seeded third, has progressed to the third round at the French Open.

In the second-round match, the Spanish tennis player defeated Jesper De Jong from the Netherlands in four sets - 3:1. The opponents battled for over three hours on the court. It marked their first encounter on the tennis court.

In the upcoming round, Carlos will face the winner of the match between Sebastian Korda and Soon Woo Kwon.

The 21-year-old Alcaraz boasts two Grand Slam titles and has previously held the world number one ranking. While this season hasn't been as dominant for him as anticipated, he managed to secure victory at the prestigious Indian Wells tournament, with no other significant achievements to his name. Last year, he reached the semifinals at Roland Garros.
