Al Hilal writes its name into Club World Cup history

The Saudi club continues to set the standard.
Details: Thanks to yesterday's victory over Pachuca in the third round of Group H at the Club World Cup, Al Hilal secured second place in the group, surpassing Salzburg, and became the only team from the Asian continent to advance to the Round of 16.
Given the new Club World Cup format, it's also worth noting that Al Hilal is the first team in AFC history to reach the playoffs under this revamped system.
Europe will have the largest representation in the Round of 16—with nine clubs making the cut. CONMEBOL follows with four teams, while CONCACAF claims third with two. AFC rounds out the list, represented solely by the aforementioned Al Hilal.
The Round of 16 fixtures kick off tomorrow, featuring showdowns between Palmeiras and Botafogo, as well as Chelsea taking on Benfica.
Reminder: “Gave everything I had.” Inzaghi commented on his move from Inter to Al Hilal
