Al Ahly Women Secure Top Spot in Egyptian League as Al Ittihad Withdraws
Al Ahly cemented their position at the top after Al Ittihad retired midway through the fifth round of the Egypt Women's Football League. Contesting competition in the league for the first time, Al Ahly have slept awesome power by achieving spectacular victories.
Al Ahly scored eight goals in just 38 minutes of the match before Al Ittihad’s players left the pitch, prompting official confiscation. Al Ahly announced the walkover on its Facebook page, saying: “Following Al Ittihad’s withdrawal, three more points have been added to our tally”.
Al Ahly are still unbeaten, having made their debut with wins over arch-rivals Zamalek (2-1), wins over Wadi Degla, Modern Sport, Maadi and now Al Ittihad so this basically put them at the top of the league standings for the first time.
