Al Ahly SC are targeting Jose Manuel Gomes
The Egyptian club are considering making a change at the helm of their coaching staff.
Al Ahly SC is looking to restructure for next season. The most successful club in the CAF Champions League is having a difficult season. Having been knocked out of the 2025–2026 Champions League at the quarter-final stage, the club is also struggling in the league.
Faced with this situation, Al Ahly is considering changing its head coach. Jess Thorup could leave his post at the end of the season. To replace him, Al Ahly is reportedly tracking Jose Manuel Gomes, the current coach of Al Fateh. The Egyptian club would like to capitalise on the situation of the Portuguese tactician, whose contract expires next June. However, no official offer has yet been made to Jose Manuel Gomes.
