Al Ahly are targeting Mark van Bommel to succeed Jess Thorup
The Egyptian club is looking to make a change at the helm of its coaching staff
Talks are reportedly underway to bring the Dutch tactician to Egypt.
Jess Thorup is expected to step down as Al Ahly’s head coach. The Egyptian giants’ season has been disastrous under the Croatian tactician. Al Ahly failed to win the Egyptian Premier League or secure qualification for next season’s CAF Champions League. This has led the Red Devils’ management to seek a new coach.
And Al Ahly’s top target is reportedly Mark van Bommel. The Egyptian giants are keen to appoint the former Dutch international as their manager for next season. The Red Devils’ management and van Bommel are said to be in talks to try and reach an agreement. The 49-year-old Dutch tactician is reportedly asking for around $4.5 million to move to Cairo.
