Super Eagles striker Akor Jerome Adams has left Nigeria’s camp in Fes after his mother was admitted to hospital. The 25-year-old, who plays for Sevilla, was given permission to travel and is expected back before Saturday’s quarter-final.

Adams debuted in October 2025 against Lesotho and has become a regular under Eric Chelle. He has started six of seven matches, scored three goals and netted in the 4-0 win over Mozambique. He dedicated that goal, saying, “the goal is dedicated to my mom”… adding, “she's in the hospital right now”… Fans nationwide have sent prayers for her quick recovery and strength.
