Akor Adams Happy to End Goal Drought in Sevilla’s Draw With Rayo Vallecano
Akor Adams has expressed his satisfaction after ending a five-game goal drought during Sevilla FC’s 1–1 draw against Rayo Vallecano at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on Sunday.
The Super Eagles striker found the back of the net to help Sevilla earn a point in the La Liga encounter, bringing an end to his recent run without a goal. It was Adams’ seventh goal in the Spanish topflight this campaign.
Speaking to Sevilla’s official website after the match, Adams admitted that while scoring is part of his role as a striker, his main focus is helping the team secure victories.
“For me, the most important thing is winning with Sevilla. I work hard every day to win matches,” Adams told the club’s official website.
“Yes, scoring goals is my job. But at this stage of the season, it doesn’t matter if Kike scores or if Lucien scores. In the end, we’re a team. We need to get points. But seven goals… I think I should have scored more. So I’m grateful to God, but I’m satisfied now.”
