Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro returned from injury in Pisa’s 1–0 loss to Parma on Monday, giving the Super Eagles a timely boost ahead of AFCON 2025. The 21-year-old, out since November, came on at halftime for Marius Marin after missing games against Sassuolo and Inter Milan.

Though Pisa could not cancel out Adrian Benedyczak’s first-half goal, Akinsanmiro impressed with four key passes, a created big chance, 96% pass accuracy in the opposition half and 100% in his own.

His performance will encourage Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle as the midfielder, named in Nigeria’s 54-man provisional squad, now works to regain sharpness and fight for a final AFCON spot.
