Ajax Officially Sign Mali International Yves Bissouma on Free Transfer

Dutch giant Ajax has officially announced the signing of the Mali international Yves Bissouma.

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder joins Ajax as a free agent after leaving Tottenham Hotspur in June. He had been without a club since his release but will now continue his career in Dutch football.

Bissouma has reportedly signed a contract until the end of the current season, with an option to extend his stay for another 12 months.

Ajax football director Jordi Cruijff confirmed that talks with the midfielder began in August and expressed his delight at getting the deal over the line.

Jordi Cruijff: ‘Discussions with Yves began in August, and we are delighted that he has now signed for Ajax. We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level.’

Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 and spent three seasons with the North London club.

During his time at Tottenham, the Mali international made 111 appearances across all competitions.
