Ajax begin talks with head coach of Europe's top club
Ajax's leadership is resolutely determined to sharply rectify the team's position following a dismal current season. The initial step should be extending an invitation to a top-tier coach adept at working with young players.
It is precisely for this reason that the Amsterdam club has settled on the candidacy of Barcelona's head coach, Xavi. As reported by Diario Sport, Ajax has already engaged in preliminary discussions with representatives of Xavi.
It is reported that the Spanish coach is intrigued by the prospect with Ajax. He is not inclined to take a long hiatus in his coaching career and is willing to consider such an opportunity.
It is anticipated that Ajax also aims to appoint Jordi Cruyff as the sporting director, who previously worked with Xavi at Barcelona.
Recall that Xavi has already officially announced his departure from Barcelona after the conclusion of this season.
With four rounds remaining in the Eredivisie regular season, Ajax currently occupies only the fifth position, which allows for participation in the play-offs for entry into the Conference League.
