Aina Fit, Awoniyi Absent as Forest Face Braga Test

Nottingham Forest will head to Portugal without Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi for Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash against Braga, as they target a crucial result in their penultimate group-stage fixture. The Premier League side sit 11th with 11 points from six games, knowing more points are needed to strengthen their qualification hopes.

There is better news at the back, with defender Ola Aina declared fit after recovering from a hamstring injury. The Nigerian has returned to training and is expected to feature in Braga. Awoniyi, however, misses out because he is not registered for the competition and cannot play until the knockout rounds.

Forest are set to rely on Brazilian striker Igor Jesus for attacking cover. Awoniyi continues to battle for a regular place later this season overall success.
