Aiming to keep him in the squad! Milan makes official offer to Mike Maignan for a long-term contract with top salary
Milan is determined to keep their captain, Mike Maignan, at the club.
Details: According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan has officially offered their captain and goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, a contract extension and the club is confident about a positive outcome in the negotiations. The French shot-stopper has been offered a top-player salary, complete with a series of bonuses to help bridge the gap between the player's demands and the club's financial capabilities.
Maignan's current contract runs until June 2026, but the club is offering a long-term deal through 2029, with an option to extend until 2030, or possibly a direct commitment to 2030. Milan is building its project around the captain as a key player. Alternative options, such as Suzuki and Hugo Souza, are only being considered if Maignan declines to sign the new agreement.
Right now, the club is doing everything possible to convince their goalkeeper to put pen to paper and remain part of the Rossoneri squad.
It's worth noting that the Frenchman has played eighteen matches for Milan this season and has kept eight clean sheets. Transfermarkt currently values him at €25 million.
Reminder: Milan has agreed a deal for Montenegrin wonderkid Andrej Kostic from Serbia's Partizan.
