Aigle Royal officially appoints Anicet Stéphane Koung as coach for the 2025-26 season in Cameroon's Elite One league

Anicet Stéphane Koung takes charge of the technical staff at Aigle Royal de la Menoua. Succeeding Michel Wamba, he was officially presented on Tuesday at the CENAJES stadium in Dschang.

This is a return to the club for Stéphane Koung. In 2016, he was already a member of the club's technical staff as assistant coach to Joseph Ndoko. Anicet Koung was then promoted to head coach. On his return, he is aware of the challenge that awaits him in Cameroon's professional league.

‘I am delighted to return to the club where I grew up a few years ago. I am proud to take the reins of Aigle Royal de la Menoua and I promise to do my utmost to restore this team to its rightful place,’ said Anicet Koung.

On the Aigle Royal bench, Anicet Stéphane Koung will make his first league appearance against Unisport Bafang on Saturday 24 January 2026 in the opening game of the 2025-26 Elite One season.
