Ahmed Soliman Reveals Controversial Insights into Zamalek’s Title Struggles

Ahmed Soliman, who is part of Zamalek's leadership team, sparked a discussion with his honest remarks about the club's long period without winning major titles. Talking about Zamalek's recent history, Soliman pointed out that the team has only won the Egyptian Premier League three times in the last twenty years (2015, 2021, 2022) and hasn't won the CAF Champions League since 2002, which is almost 25 years ago.
During a TV interview on MBC Egypt with Ekramy El Shahat, a former Goalkeeper for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, Soliman said that Zamalek's problems are mainly due to financial penalties against the club. He believes that if these issues didn't exist, Zamalek could have been successful not only in football but in many other sports as well.
Ekramy then questioned Zamalek's performance in football, mentioning the team's inconsistent wins in the league and their absence from the Champions League spotlight. Soliman ended the conversation by hinting at a powerful "Al Ahly supporter within Zamalek," without giving more details.
