The new Club World Cup format hasn’t exactly thrilled the football community. Players criticize the congested schedule, and fans see it as another FIFA moneymaking venture. However, former Argentina striker Sergio Agüero believes his compatriot Lionel Messi will approach the tournament with full commitment.
Details: Agüero thinks the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner hates losing and remains a must-see player regardless of the tournament's stature. For Messi, the Club World Cup will be an exciting challenge.
Quote: "We know Messi is one of those players everyone wants to watch, so it will be great to see Inter Miami compete in the tournament, especially with Leo in the squad. He will want to give it his all because he doesn’t like losing.
Opponents must stay alert, even with just a minute or two on the clock, because he can punish you with a thunderous strike, a pinpoint free kick, or simply his brilliance in the attacking half. That’s because he’s the best player in the world," Agüero told FIFA's press service.
Reminder: In the group stage of the 2025 Club World Cup, Inter Miami will face Al Ahly, Palmeiras, and Porto.
