Atletico Madrid is on the verge of signing Ademola Lookman.
Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the deal is expected to be finalized by tonight. The Nigerian striker has officially informed all parties that his priority is a move to the "Colchoneros," despite Turkish side Fenerbahce offering a higher salary. Lookman's desire to play in La Liga under Diego Simeone proved decisive in negotiations.
Nicolo Schira reports that Atletico will pay Atalanta a fixed fee of €35 million, with an additional €5 million in various bonuses. This brings the total package to the €40 million requested by the Italian club. The clubs have already reached a verbal agreement and are preparing the official paperwork to complete the transfer.
Once all formalities are processed, Lookman will travel to Madrid for a medical and to sign his contract.
This season, the Nigerian has featured in nineteen matches for the Bergamo club across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists. Transfermarkt values the forward at €35 million.
