Sometimes, no matter how hard players try, breaking into the national team proves to be an incredibly tough challenge. Such is the case for Orlando Pirates forward Tshegofatso Mabasa.

Details: Despite netting 34 goals over the past two seasons, Mabasa still remains outside the radar of South Africa head coach Hugo Broos. The striker's agent, Gary Cassisa, believes his client deserves a shot with Bafana Bafana.

Quote: "Look, at the end of the day, the coach has his own ideas about which players he wants to see in his squad. He has his own style of play. It's a tough question. But I definitely believe he's put in a lot of hard work. Let's look at the facts, let's look at his stats. Does he deserve a call-up to the national team? One hundred percent.

But he's also competing with other players in his position. The coach is in a difficult situation because he's under pressure, choosing from a group of players who are delivering strong performances. That's why there are so many debutants in the national team.

The coach has a wide selection in terms of both the quantity and quality of players who have shown good form. So I don't think it was an easy decision to leave Mabasa out of the squad," Cassisa told KickOff.com.
