Maurizio Sarri has decided to continue his tenure with Lazio despite a tense situation with the club’s management, according to the official club website.

The coach was not informed that the team had been hit with a transfer ban and was temporarily unable to register new players—news that came as a complete shock to him.

Nevertheless, after a phone conversation with club president Claudio Lotito, during which the current situation was discussed, Sarri confirmed he would stay on and is determined to press ahead with his work.

It is worth recalling that last season Lazio finished only seventh in Serie A and missed out on European competitions, adding further pressure to the club during the off-season.
