Casemiro has played his entire career with his name spelled incorrectly.
Details: The 33-year-old Manchester United and Brazil national team defensive midfielder stunned fans by revealing that throughout his professional career, he has played under a misspelled name:
"My name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro, with an 'I', not 'Casemiro'. I remember playing for São Paulo, and the club wrote my name wrong. They spelled it with an 'E'," Casemiro stated.
Why the Brazilian never pointed out the error or asked for it to be corrected remains a mystery. However, as we can see, it never really hindered his career.
Casemiro began his professional journey in 2010, moving from São Paulo's youth academy to the senior team. In 2013, he made the switch from São Paulo to Real Madrid for €6 million.
Currently, Casemiro is a Manchester United player, with his contract running until the end of this season, after which he will become a free agent.
