After the defeat against Senegal, fundamental reform is needed for Kenyan football, according to the FKF president
A few days after Kenya's heavy defeat against Senegal (0-8), the president of the Kenyan Football Federation, Hussein Mohammed, speaking on social media, addressed a message of responsibility and commitment to the sporting public.
Hussein Mohammed acknowledges that this poor performance highlights the structural deficiencies of Kenyan football.
"We have no excuses. I apologize for these results. We will fix it. Frankly, today is a bad day at the office. Today's match results are a wake-up call for us. To play and compete against the best in the world, we must deliberately invest in a serious and professional technical staff and player development programs," said Hussein Mohammed.
He added that a thorough overhaul of the Federation's operations, from its working methods to the entire technical chain, was underway.
"We will review our policies, operational procedures, and key performance indicators for all staff, from the grassroots level to all national teams."
This reaction signals the FKF's commitment to undertaking fundamental reforms after the drubbing suffered against the Lions of Teranga. These commitments must lead to concrete actions to raise the level of Kenyan football on the continental stage.
