Mamelodi Sundowns have reached the semi-finals of the competition twice in a row, this time with a 1-0 first leg win over Esperance of Tunisia, Williams hoping that his side can bring the trophy back to the club's coffers this time around.

Tough semi-final clash with Al Ahly!

However, the road ahead will not be easy for the Yellow Dreamers as they will face an experienced and tough opponent in the next round, Al Ahly of Egypt, so Ronen Williams' team will have to work hard and prepare well to face their opponent from the North of the continent.

Williams: ‘This is our year for the Cup’

International goalkeeper Ronen Williams was pleased with his team's performance, “This game was one of the best, because of the team's desire and determination to give everything. It's not easy to come to Tunisia and win.”

He added:

"When we beat them in the first leg, we changed the history, because we had never beaten them before. So I felt that this year could be our year."

Pivotal role of the coach

The great work that Miguel Cardoso and his entire technical staff are doing cannot be hidden and the young goalkeeper spoke about the Portuguese coach's analytical role, saying: "The coach gave us all the details about how they play, their strengths and weaknesses. We knew it was a marginal game, and that's exactly what happened."
