“Africa has shown that it knows how to seize opportunities,” says Pape Thiaw, proud of the African nations’ performance at the 2026 World Cup
The Senegalese tactician believes that the results achieved at the end of the group stage confirm the progress made by African football.
Africa has made a lasting impression at the World Cup being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Of the 10 teams representing the continent at the start of the tournament, nine have secured their places in the round of 32. This performance has been praised by Senegal’s head coach, Pape Thiaw.
“Africa has shown that when opportunities arise, it knows how to seize them. We have nothing to envy anyone. African teams are performing very well, with coaches from the continent. I would particularly like to congratulate the DR Congo on their qualification. ”
It should be noted that Senegal, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Algeria and the DR Congo have all reached the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup.
