The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has gathered a significant contingent of players from Europe's elite leagues. Some clubs from the top five leagues stand out in particular—they have sent the largest number of their footballers to the tournament.
Details: English side Sunderland has the most representatives at AFCON 2025, sending six players. Among them are Chemsdine Talbi (Morocco), Arthur Masuaku and Noah Sadiki (both DR Congo), Habib Diarra (Senegal), Bertrand Traoré (Burkina Faso), and Reinildo Mandava (Mozambique).
Several clubs have sent four players each to the tournament. These include Paris FC, Lorient, Bayer, Metz, Nice, Lille, Angers, and Le Havre. These squads feature footballers from Senegal, Algeria, Morocco, Cameroon, DR Congo, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Mali, Gabon, and other African national teams.
It’s worth noting that the tournament kicks off today, December 21, at 20:00 Central European Time. The opening match will see Morocco face off against the Comoros Islands.
